The cellulite myth #2 - Men don't have cellulite??!!!

Approximately 80 - 90 % of women after puberty have cellulite.

Women rather than men tend to have it because they have more irregularly patterned tissue beneath the skin, resulting in that dimpled, cottage-cheese, orange-peel look aka cellulite. Women's connective tissue is very inflexible so, as women naturally gain weight, their fat cells expand and tend to bulge up towards the surface of the skin. In men, not only is there generally less fat on the thighs, but the outer layer of skin is thicker and hides what's going on in the fat below.


More women have it than men because of our thinner skin, which shows it more clearly.

Also, there are some men with clearly visible cellulite, just as in the case of women.
